| Bringing this
project to life requires a tremendous amount of time, effort and
money. More than $600,000 has been raised for the project so far
but another $900,000 is needed to complete the building and
addition. You can be part of this exciting project.

Friends of the Old Martin County
Courthouse are grateful for all the support to date:
- As of the end of 2005, the State
of North Carolina has led the effort with appropriations, to
date, of nearly $200,000.
- Fundraisers including suppers and
picnics, Spring Flings, Fall Happenings, auctions, numerous
Courthouse Balls, annual Christmas ornament sales, and a
handmade Courthouse Quilt project have brought in more than
$132,000.
- Memorial funds and pledges have
added up to more than $73,000. Grants from the North Carolina
Department of Resources, The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation,
Marion Stedman Covington Foundation the Hillsdale Foundation
have amounted to $28,000.
